It looks like a slightly melted 911 or one that would be driven on the moon

The absurdity of it makes me think there were recreational substances involved.

That is some shit dodge should do.
Demon tires. As you heat up the rear tires, somehow a Demon logo appears

This led to the “No designs approved during Oktoberfest” rule at Porsche.

Dodge had Flame tires on its Sidewinder concept from the ‘90s.
10 year old me thought these were AMAZING!!

I never realized how much my car needed large pink zippers on the outside.

Funny joke, but the famous German car company in Munich is BMW, not Porsche.
Porsche is in Baden-Württemberg (more specifically, Stuttgart), not in all-year-partying Bavaria.
I am sure the Swabians do appreciate drinking beer, but the Oktoberfest is not their thing.

Funny story. At some stage some loon decided he or she wanted a 962-engined 911 cabriolet and being a sort of powerful figure in the car business (no, I don’t know who it was) he/she convinced the “special wishes” department of Porsche AG to build him/her one.
For some reason for the rather special roof of his/her cabrio this guy or gal wanted zippers of exactly the same colour found in the Panamericana roof. They contacted the company that did the original ones and they answered “sure, but the minimum order we can take is 500 sets” (or something crazy like that). Porsche told the customer and he/she approved the order, no problem.
Somewhere in Germany there is a large box with a lot of zippers nobody wants but you!
(I wish I remembered where I saw this. It may have been a Porsche Panorama of maybe a very early Excellence magazine.)
Fun fact 2: the heads of the Porsche 962 are water cooled, so they had to install a radiator under the now belouvred bonnet in the front “boot”. Arguably the first “factory” water-cooled 911 ever?

OK, I did not want to sound impertinent (I liked your joke myself).
On the other hand I imagine you’d probably react similarly if someone made a joke, say, about something in LA but mentioning the Kentucky Derby (or vice versa). Or about Milan but referencing Sicily.

I could see how this evolved into the 996. Even those grilles made it to the production generation today.
