I don’t even like Cadillac, but the Sixteen was a big enough “fuck everyone who is poor” for me to want it.

The Sixteen was a massive missed opportunity. As was the Cien, as was the Elmarij, as was the Ciel

I still think that Cadillac needs a halo car, and that could have been it. Some of the styling cues would need updates now, but that shape is gorgeous.
I think that GM still isn’t capable of doing the math on a vehicle that will only sell a couple hundred units, and can’t share much of anything with other GM cars for fairly obvious reasons.

God I love the Sixteen, one of my first ever large car shows was GM’s eye on design show many many years ago and this car was featured prominently at this show. It is so. damn. cool.

The Elmiraj is my favorite of that group - because true hardtop!

The Sixteen was badass, but Ciel is my favorite. Maybe just because it was the closest to looking like an actual production car. This > Rolls Royce Dawn.

I think it had the best overall styling as well

I think this is the first in the Cadillac concept cars to never be built. I don’t even pay attention to Cadillac concept cars anymore because they will never happen. This was the best and therefore most disappointing.

Every Cadillac concept that they didn’t build is a disappointment.

It would have been a loss leader, sure, but think of the intangible halo benefit to the rest of the Cadillac lineup. I’ll bet they could have sold at least as many as VW sold Veyrons, maybe more, because it likely would have cost less and also been more practical.
