We had SIX separate Tornado Warnings last night/this morning, not to mention a ton of emergency alert messages regarding Flash Flood Warnings. A neighborhood south of me got tagged by a tornado, with fifty or so houses damaged. And that was just in the outer bands.

We’ll see what happens when this storm curves north and we get closer to the eye. No damage to the house thus far, still have electricity, but damn, it’s been wild. Pray/think nice thoughts for the folks that have sustained a direct hit.

While the heaviest winds and the storm surge have died down, this roller coaster ain’t done yet.

What area are you in? I’m in midtown and I took my car to a parking garage this AM. There was already some localized flooding.

Still have power? That’s impressive.

I like dramatic weather, but not when people get hurt.

Thanks for the report.

Yeah, Rockport got slammed. I have a friend who reluctantly fled from her house in Victoria, and I think she’s happy with her decision.

It looks like we’ll get more wind and rain, but the truly bad stuff (not including tornados) looks to be over.

Stay safe. My sister is in Round Rock waiting to hear from her.

Fort Bend. We’ve been getting slammed all night. Channel two is currently in Sienna Plantation, had some acquaintances get their homes totaled.

I’m actually quite impressed too! Some friends close by have had their lights flickering a little last night, but we haven’t had anything like that.

She should be fine. The Austin area has had some wind, but it’s also 200+ miles inland.

Meanwhile, here out by spring we haven’t had much of anything except a constant light drizzle.

We got prepared here in SA taking down all the furniture/canopy/umbrellas outside, stocking up on water and gasoline, checking the generator, etc. but looks like it will mostly miss us. So far just light rain and lots of wind that isn’t strong enough to much besides blow leaves off of trees. Good luck - hopefully the worst of it sneaks by you without doing much damage.

Nah, we’re good thanks. Some homes a few miles north of us got hit by a tornado, though. We were right in the thick of it last night, but it appears we’ve come out unscathed (so far).

Just made a quick run to the store for eggs and orange juice. The latter might have been for making tequila sunrises.

Which reminds me, I should’ve gotten more grenadine. Shit.

My dad’s neighbor in Austin had a huge (and abnormally tall, too) oak tree shed one of its main limbs and fall into the nighbor’s backyard/pool.

You should be fine, though.

Gusty winds and rain here. We’re still under 2" of rain. But they say that most of it will come tonight. Glad you made it through safely so far. I love dramatic weather, but not when people get hurt. Be safe.

Been easy here in the loop thus far. Bayou is not too high, no flooding to speak of, and it’s barely raining.

Hope those tornadoes stop coming.

Stay safe. I hope it miraculously fizzles out and vanishes.

Here in Seattle, yet another sunny weekend, highs around 80, no rain in any extended weather model, best weather in the world. By saying that, I am sure I just jinxed us into a little earthquake, or 50 straight days of rain this winter, but this area is probably the best in the country from late June through September or so.

Not much going on here in Bastrop yet, aside from plenty of rain and some occasional gusts.

My wife and I met a couple from Rockport here at the dog park yesterday. Turns out the husband is the IT director for the city. Rockport is using Bastrop Public Library as a command center to keep everyone in touch and informed back home, though there’s not much left down there. No confirmed deaths or injuries, which is amazing considering 40% of the town stayed there.

The couple lost their home...

There aren’t any confirmed deaths because they are just now starting search and rescue (aka body recovery) efforts. :(

We just dodged another tornado about an hour ago.
