It says “2.8L stroker motor” what does that mean? Does that mean an i head on an e motor? Does it mean something different? THE WORLD DEMANDS ANSWERS.

I would guess it has different crank shaft, I’m clueless with BMW engines.

Pretty sure it was a difference of heads, there might have been a difference of compression ratios as well, but I think they also changed the heads.

Stroke is determined by the crankshaft so this likely has the crank out of an ‘e’ motor and slightly overbored cylinders with oversize pistons for that little bit more displacement over a 325e’s normal 2.7l. The ‘i’ head is preferable for its better flow characteristics (iirc), cam and valve springs to handle more revs so I’d suspect that is on this motor. These builds are pretty well supported/documented at this point.
