Will this prompt the Kinja people to un-Kinja the Kinja?

I don’t know much about A.V. Club pre-Kinja, but I’m seeing sub-blogs that seem to mirror existing Gizmodo Media Group ones. How’s that gonna work?
What’s the difference between AVC and io9? or Gameological and Kotaku? Are these guys coworkers now, or competitors?

Lol give you three guesses.

Yeah I can’t imagine Jezebel’s too happy. Splinter and Fusion are all politics and now there’s a dedicated celebrity/pop culture page.

Just looked at the top bar. What the hell happened to fusion?

Splinter is Fusion , they just rebranded it for whatever reason.

IIRC, Fusion became Splinter.
I’m sure that GMG is proud to have another main blog, but the blog structure has been really weird for a long time. If Fusion/Splinter wants to host politics, I think that’s great. I never understood why The Slot was a sub-blog to Jezebel, or why Deadspin’s The Concourse even exists. Politics is a big enough subject to warrant its own blog and be Kinja’s go-to source for that kind of news.
But having two go-to sources in the Kinjaverse for video games is weird. Are they just going to cross-post every article until they have the same exact content? I’m not sure if people “work for” individual blogs, or if everyone is simply employed by GMG, but if it’s the latter, why not have one blog per topic and grant the appropriate authors authorship on the appropriate blogs?

I guess because one of the fusion reporters fell for a 4chan prank and declared the “OK” sign a symbol of white supremacy lol.
