I am totally digging the (presumably) surplus Humvee. Would DD in winter. Also, a bonus Tahoe for size comparison....

Those must be 9-foot (or more) wide parking spaces. That is one large vehicle.

Well, it is a McDonald’s parking lot. Hahaa...

....Then my bet is on 9.5' spaces, for the “Supersize” customers.

And because I’ve seen a few H1's, and how freakin’ WIDE they were surprised me more than anything.

Well for those of us who have ridden many miles in those, not so much a nice thing to drive around. Often too wide in forested areas, the British vehicles we hitched a ride in sometimes are much better all around.

When I was little there was a guy parking an H1 nearby where I lived. This being Europe it didn’t quite fit the parking space.

Saw an H1 with a 1000hp Duramax outrun a pretty fast Camaro in the 1/8th mile at Roadkill Nights. Not sure if it was peak ‘Murica but it’s getting pretty close.

Just a few feet to spare on a standard interstate highway lane. Tactical reasons I’d assume.

As long as it was rolling coal. [Murica intensifies]

Not very much. It was obviously built by people who knew what they were doing so it made power not smoke.

I seem to remember an old episode of Top Gear with Jeremy Clarkson driving a Hummer on typical European city streets. Definitely a nightmare.

That makes me happy. A properly tuned diesel definitely shouldn’t smoke too much, if any at all.

My towns fire department has two of those painted red with the tan soft top, and two Stevenson tanker trucks. They have taken full advantage of the 1033 program.

Wasn’t that the H2 he was driving around? As far as I remember, he rather liked it. Clarkson has always bee the secret American on Top Gear, Hammond the open one.
