I decided that I don’t like 20" wheels on my truck, so I bought some 18s instead. I used a website called customwheeloffset to have new wheels and tires mounted and balanced and shipped to my door. So far I’m pretty happy with the outcome.

Before:

They came nicely wrapped up on a pallet, delivered by freight:

And after:

Now I get the joy of craigslisting the old ones...

Those Methods look great. My only complaint is that all tires under 35s seem to small on full size pickups. I have 285s on my 05 Silverado and they still look small to me, even at stock height.

Thanks! I agree with you there; I wanted to go bigger, of course, but the truck is still new and I didn’t feel like lifting it or messing up the bodywork by having to trim. I may level it in the future, and get slightly bigger tires when these wear out.

You have the coil suspension up front, so its much easier to lift and nicer riding than the torsion bar setup I have. On the plus side, its a LOT easier to load at stock height.

Selling tires/rims on cl is the worst. Type out that there’s curb rash and some dents and the tires are shot. Every fucking text “Are the tires any good? Is there any damage to the rims?” They’re stilling sitting in my garage because I didn’t feel like responding to people who don’t take the time to read the ad.

I hear you. I had luck once on my old car, where two wheels got damaged in a wreck, so I sold the other two successfully. Even shopping now is a pain. I took lots of pictures, so hopefully that will help.

You’re quite welcome, those wheels really make the car look much better

If the wheel openings weren’t so massize, this wouldn’t be an issue. Why is there that much clearance?!?!

The meatier tires look a lot better for sure. Are those actual bead lock rims?

Nice! Wheels make such a difference. I’d still like to swap out the stock 17" sport wheels on the Tacoma. I’ll do that once I need new tires.

When I ordered the wheel/tire combo for the Cougar, each individual mounted wheel/tire came in a separate box. I expected them to show up more like your set did.

Thanks! No, just simulated. They are actual bolts, though. I can take them out and paint them a different color if I wanted.

Good looking truck! How is the road noise with those Nittos?

Thank you! Louder than stock, but not overbearing. You can definitely hear them with the radio off. Quieter than what you would think by looking at them, though. Still getting the right pressure dialed in, so they might get quieter (I think they’re a little deflated how they sit right now)
