right. the moon is tidally-locked; it does not rotate relative to the Earth so no matter where you are on this planet you’ll always see the same side of the moon. Think of it like attaching a string to a ball and twirling it around you.

it’s more correctly called the far side of the moon, since it gets plenty of sun light.

Technically the moon doesn’t have a dark side because it orbits. The side away from Earth sees more light than the side toward the Earth, in fact.

Since it’s tidally-locked, you only see one side of the moon from Earth, though.
