Camry vs. Sebring is what this competition really is. So, Camry.

The funny thing about the Sebring vs. Eclipse:

The Sebring Convertible is based off the Sebring Sedan.

The Sebring Coupe is based off the Eclipse Coupe.

The Eclipse Convertible is based off the Eclipse Coupe.

...this does not make sense to me.

I always thought it was unnecessary to separate the Sebring vert from the eclipse vert.

I live with a Sebring vert in the household. Definitely Chrysler and not Mitsubishi. No part sharing. Only the coupes shared.

Easiest to tell in the engine choices.

Because the priority with the Sebring convertible was to have a genuinely usable back seat whereas the back seat in the Eclipse, even in non-convertible form, is dinky.

When I worked for Mitsubishi we called the Eclipses “Galant Coupes” and Galants “Eclipse Sedans”.

I hate how that generation of solar looks (say...2/10) wheras i merely dislike how the eclipse looks (4/10) Plus i have to believe that Mitsu’s chassis engineers thought about ‘sportiness’ at least once or twice while making the Eclipse. Plus you can probably get it with a manual.

So grudgingly, i’m going with the mitsubishi. But i’m not happy about it. Because fuck that car.

It does?

For 2001, the Sebring Convertible was redesigned. It now closely resembled the sedan , though it still differed greatly from it and the coupe. The front fascia and most of the interior were the only features that these cars had in common. Many interior and exterior components were carried over from the first-generation car, though the body shell underneath is significantly different. The Sebring received minor styling revisions (mostly the appearance of the nose) for the 2004 model year .

2003–2005 Chrysler Sebring coupe

A redesigned Sebring Coupe was introduced for the 2001 model year, based on the third generation Mitsubishi Eclipse. Like the previous generation, the coupe shared very little in common with the sedan or the convertible, other than the name and a few exterior styling cues to help market all three vehicles together as one model.

What about the 2008 Altima coupe 3.5?

You could have those in a 6 speed manual and they look better than those two IMO:

EDIT: somehow missed the convertible part.

That means that the Sebring Coupe and Mistubishi coupe share the same chassis. But the Sebring Convertible does not share the same chassis as the Mistubishi and Sebring coupe.
