For this. A Camaro 1SS 1LE. I placed a refundable deposit (instead of the non-refundable deposits) and snagged supplier pricing on a special order. ETA 8-10 weeks.

Kinja'd!!!

Not my car, since my car isn’t actually built yet

Allegedly the car will be built with a Hyper Blue exterior, 1LE package, some 1LE badging, and the performance data recorder.

Once the order gets accepted by GM, then the dealer and I start counting days to production, transport, and finally, delivery.

No idea what the trim levels are (e.g. what “1SS 1LE” entails) but I recently had a rental SS and it was pretty good. Fast for sure.

The 1SS is a trim level. It’s the base V8 (so if you rented a base Camaro, it was likely a 1SS). The 1LE package gets you the suspension off the ZL1 (including MagneRide), upgrades the brakes to ATS-V brakes, adds the ZL1's Recaros, forces a manual transmission on you, gives you the performance exhaust, adds track modes to StabiliTrak, and gets you the ZL1 wheel and tire setup.

Basically, it’s a track car. No extraneous goodies (like a sunroof, or Bose audio) and the stuff you get is the stuff you actually want on a track car.

Good, custom order is the way to go on these :) if you’re garaging it for the winter, I would advise picking up a set of cheap wheels and tires to store with and keeping the good ones inside. If the G3s are like the G2 tires, they’ll crack if you keep them in the cold (under 40) long enough.

I’m going to have to see what I can do with getting a set of winter (or more likely, all season) tires, since my plan is to attempt driving this most of the time down in Georgia. Occasionally it gets cold, but not like Michigan (The tires should be fine in my garage, since it usually doesn’t drop below 50 there)

If it snows, that’s what the truck is for, amirite?

So am I going to see this at local track events in Georgia in 2018?

Depends upon the delivery date...But that’s the plan.

I’m getting my butt kicked in the rookie class by a guy driving one of these in autocross. He’s got skill but also sits in his car after each run reviewing the video IN DASH. Seems like a great car which I’m sure that you will enjoy.
