I haven’t posted anything in a while because I haven’t had any interesting car related stuff going on. So, here are a couple Camaro pics for you. Drove from Dayton to Kings Island on Tuesday then Dayton to Cincinnati yesterday for a wedding so it was in desperate need of a good wash.
I’ve been slowly switching from my old favorite brand to Griot’s cleaning products. So far I’m really happy with all the Griot’s stuff I’ve tried.

I love seeing car cleaning posts. It’s good to see people caring for the look and well being of the car and not just modding it out of existence.
That’s a lovely blue.
I’ve not tried Griots.
I saw some for sale in the U.K. a couple of years back but never gave it a try.
I go through phases. I’ve used Gtechniq for six years (I still use it for interior stuff) for everything but have taken to Gyeon for exterior bodywork and wheels (Gtechniq still for tyres).

Don’t happen to live in Savannah, GA by any chance?

How do you get away with not having a front plate? I live too in Ohio, and would be getting tickets every week if I didn’t have one.

Thanks, I love the color too. Most people glance at it and assume it’s black so I really appreciate that you noticed it’s blue!
I’ve actually been thinking about trying some Gtechniq and Gyeon stuff since I’ve seen them in your posts.
I’m totally with you on the crazy mods. All I’ve done is change the exhaust on my car. I needed to hear that V8 just a little more than the stock mufflers allowed. Otherwise the car is as it left the factory and I plan to keep it that way.

Well, I don’t really know. I suppose it helps that I only drive it once or twice a week and I’m pretty well behaved when I do. I used to have a front plate on it but I hated it. So, I took it off about two years ago and decided it was worth the ticket if I got one. I’ve never been stopped by the police in this car, so they must not care that much about the front plate.

No, but I do like Savannah. So, the chances of me driving to you to wash the car have improved substantially.

I live in Ohio and intermittently run or don’t run a front plate. I’ve never had one on the Chevelle and had no issues with it. Didn’t have one on the rx7 for a while but I drive it so much I figured I might as well use the bracket that’s already on there.

It’s a blue that looks darker than it as at dusk but in the sun really glows.
I started using the Gyeon for convenience without losing quality in finished work, protection or durability.
Another one to try if time is a real premium.
Carpro Hydro2 Foam.
You can use it as a shampoo and seal (like a wash and wax) or a post shampoo and rinse sealant.

Why not give it a try. Just keep your plate in the passenger seat for a few days and if you get pulled over just show the cop and say it was hanging loose that day and you were going to try to bolt out back on as soon as you got home. They aren’t going to write you a ticket.

How does Gyeon compare to Gtechniq for exterior convenience? Any new interior products you like?

Gyeon for example have Wetcoat, it’s a water pressure activated sealant. Simply wash the car and rinse, spray on Wetcoat (I like to wipe it over too to eliminate any risk of streaking), then pressure rinse, the higher the pressure the longer the durability of the sealant (ie regular hose water pressure would get about six weeks or so life while pressure washer level will see three months easily) and then dry.
I like to follow any regular was, Wetcoat wash, etc... with Gyeon Cure. Which I use as a drying aid. It’s virtually impossible to streak or smear unlike Gtechniq C2v3 which can be quite smeary, especially on darker coloured cars.
It can be used as a stand alone sealant, top up, quick detailer or drying aid. Can be used on all surfaces from glass, plastic, paint and metal.
For the interior. Gtechniq I2ab is hard to beat. It’s a great cleaner with an anti bacterial element.
For leather, follow it up with Gtechniq L1 which protects the leather from dye transfer, UV damage, reduces damage from abrasion, etc...
For interior plastics, Gtechniq C6 is the king. It’s non glossy (like Armorall), simply returns the plastics original lustre, adds UV protection, non greasy, etc...
I decant it into a foamer pump bottle to airate the product making it easier to get into all the nooks and crannies, easier to spread, eliminates risk of overspray from spraying directly onto a cloth within the vehicle.
