Only 7 are incorrectly listed and actually have the DCT. I thought it’d be a lot higher than that! Couldn’t confirmed either way on 4 cars. One of the offenders was from Enthusiast Auto Group! Come on, guys...

It’s great that EAG is maybe a mile from my place (and on the same road) so I can look at their overpriced goods in person basically anytime I like.

If you want to find a much higher percentage of SMG cars marked as manual, search for E60 M5 and E63/4 M6.

Just proves that lots of people selling cars have no idea about the cars they’re selling. I actually sent a message to the 7 that were listed incorrectly to let them know they had it listed wrong.

I’m sure a lot of the mis-markings are intentional, because technically an SMG or DCT still has a clutch and allows you to manually select gears, and dealers know customers search for manuals so they want their cars to show in the results.

I guess, but at least half were listed as 6-Speed Manual, which it is not. Definitely time to add a dual-clutch category on most of these sites.

Not gonna lie, they have a solid collection they show outside. See M2's flying around near it recently. They’ve got a cool E39 touring shop wag with msport/mtech? Whatever it was called exterior package and the style 37's. I want.

When I was looking for my non-M e90, it was a solid 72% incorrect ads... I had a reply that I copied and pasted for every one that I came across. Something like “Vehicle listed incorrectly. This car is NOT a manual. If it doesn’t have a clutch pedal, then it’s NOT a manual.” Changing the world, one internet car salesman at a time.

Haha - I did the same thing for these 7 (but not as detailed).

You’re gonna have to write up your E90 at some point.

“Is your car a manual or automatic?”
It’s got a manual shifting mode.
“Does your car have a clutch pedal?”
Well, no.
“Then that’s an automatic...”

Do you laugh in their faces, or do you hold it in and when you get into your car you burst out laughing?

One of the few DeMuro articles that I really liked was the one where he went up to a guy who had a BRZ and asked if it had a manual or an automatic and the guy responded with “Both”.
