OMG, you must be reading my mind today. One exception is I hit 62 and could retire if I want but plan on going to 66. Its just that today is one of those pain in the ass days where I feel like getting up and walking out without saying a word to anyone except HR.

HiPretty much. The maintenance guys work on some pretty complex machines and occasionally need a custom part fabbed. But coming from doing machine design... I’m not happy. I also think it’s a message letting me know I’m not wanted anymore since they’re basically eliminating the engineering department. If they can get me to quit they don’t pay unemployment :-/

Good luck in your hunt! I have them feels. I’ve interviewed with two world-class outfits, dream jobs, and they both want me, but... the pay sucks. I’d make equal money with worse benefits (but double vacation), and have to move to a place I hate that costs more to live for one, and the other is in this area but pays $25k less. If it was just me, I’d take it just for happiness, but that doesn’t fly with a family.

I’ve had that feeling a lot lately, unfortunately the only emails I seem to get immediately following are from a customer berating me and my company or a clueless PM wondering why I’ve not finished the 3-weeks-for-3-people’s worth of work I have had two days to work on.
