Build your dream car!!! The rules are simple:
1) pick 3: chassis, bodywork, engine.
2) must be from different continents.
3) cannot be related (ex. Fiat and Chrysler).
I’ll take a Hilix body with a Lamborghini V12 on a Viper ACR chassis

I’ll play:
I want a car that doesn’t blow its transmission at 119,000 miles.

I’d argue that Lamborghini is closely enough related to the Viper to be breaking your own rules. When the Viper was created, Chrysler owned Lamborghini and had them do some work designing the original aluminum V10. A version of that engine was in the Viper until the end.

Buy a 2001 Hyundai Accent. Mine blew its tranny and clutch at 89k! That is not 119k as you stipulated!

Wow, that’s nuts. I had a customer with a Jetta 2.5L and she went through 4 used transmissions in 9 months over about 10k miles (including downtime). The vision of her recurring phone number on the Caller ID is still firmly etched in my memory. Finally we convinced her aftermarket warranty company to spring for a rebuilt one that used updated-spec parts. Haven’t seen her since except when she came in with a friend of hers to help the friend choose a replacement. Thankfully, the friend wisely avoided the VWs on the lot.

I’m gonna try again, because fuck it, let’s make a dream garage. Time for an RV for those road trips.
Chassis: Put Porsche 911 running gear under it, I guess, because the body requires rear-engine RWD
Body: Vixen 21TD
Powertrain: RX 450h/Highlander Hybrid, with more battery, and software to enable a camping mode (engine works as generator only for an extended time)
This isn’t exactly what I’d want - I’d prefer the Pacifica Hybrid’s powertrain and battery (but I couldn’t take it because the Vixen’s American), and I actually would prefer a body designed around front-engine FWD rather than the rear-engine RWD that the Vixen uses (largely to avoid sleeping over the engine that could start at any time to generate electricity). But, it’s pretty close, and a shit-ton of noise insulation could help, too. (And, the 21TD’s packaging is very much designed around the rear engine, it’ll end up longer (but with some usable basement area under the bed) with a front engine.)

I like where your head is at, but I think with England technically being part of Europe, the M-B and McLaren can’t mix. You need an Australian, N/S American, or Antarctic substitution.
![]() 08/15/2017 at 14:10 |

England and Germany are technically the same continent.
![]() 08/15/2017 at 15:13 |

I was hoping that technicality would work. I’d rather stick the body of the new Ford GT on it then

Balls, that’s very true.
I’ll have to amend that
