It looks pretty decent, but as you can see its missing a few cables. What I need to know is if there is a standard for modular power supply cables or do I have to get ones specific to this brand of power supply?

It looks relatively modular, I’d still recommend looking online and seeing what its power delivery is because older hardware is more reliant on a different type of power delivery than new hardware. Sadly I don’t know any of the specifics.

I think those six and eight pins are pretty standard, but the model of PS might make a difference. Any idea who’s that is?

It says BFG on the top.

Probably a reference back to Doom, right?

All my modular supplies have used different cables. It would be nice if things were standardized though.

Looks like it’s a BFG supply, who went bust in 2010. They weren’t that good back then, and PSU performance has improved quite a bit since then, even on the lower cost (but still decent branded) models

Possibly, though they also produced overclocked graphics cards, so it may have some meaning there. BFG went defunct in 2010, so that makes things difficult. Looks like that’s a 550W supply, FWIW.

FWIW I think you should be able to get away with any old 6 or 8 pin that works.

Its a power wire, its going to carry the electricity from one end to the other regardless of how its pinned out inside the PSU.

The only issue you may run into is how the plug is set up. Whether its a full square or a square with 2 corners cut off. On the PSU side of the plug. (Im talking about how the actual plug for the wire is laid out.)

Just look at big name brand PSUs and find one that has the same layout.
