This is a new one I hadn’t seen before. What appeared to be legitimate interest in the car/truck turns out to be a way to drive revenue to a supposed vehicle history report company.
My response was as follows:
Zero response. This is an extremely legitimate looking and sounding thread for a seller, and I anticipate A LOT of people falling for it.

When I was trying to sell my Audi I probably got half a dozen or more emails almost exactly like that. People claiming that they wanted me to buy a history report, but they didn’t want me to use CARFAX and here was some random unheard-of site that I should buy on their behalf.

They’re getting smarter. I’ve been seeing scams getting better and better on the buyer side

Me: I’d love to help you out, Dude, but if you or anyone found out half the shit that’s happened to this car, I’d have no chance of selling it. Really, just to give me a chance of offloading it to some rube, I’ll have to take down that site. usavincheckup you say? Setting up a DNS attack on it right now. Thanks for the info!

You should make one up and send it to them. Some ridiculous stuff like “Owner says it’s awesome and never been raced”. Photoshop is your friend.
