Mrs McMike has spent the last week out of town for work. It’s amazing how quickly we become feral.

I had hotdogs and chips&salsa every night for dinner, and ate them over the sink.

I hand-washed the three or four dishes/utensils every day as to not make a mess.

I didn’t sit in the living room at all - Hell, I don’t even think I turned on the lights in that part of the house at all.

I think I drank beer outside with the neighbors four out the five nights she was gone.

I went from 48 to 22 years old in the time it took me to drive back home from the airport after dropping her off on Sunday.

If there wasn’t a beer bong involved in your week, I’d say you were acting more 25 than you were 22.

Someday, I’ll be able to do this. But for at least the next 13 years, I’ll just be the solo parent trying to keep his daughters from dying while my wife is out of town.

I think I’m the only person alive who looks forward to being 53.5.

Don’t forget about taking stupidly-named shots, like a “Girl Scout Cookie” or a “B-52". Mandatory.

Hot dogs, chips and salsa and Amber Bock ate the only reason I can survive my wife’s absences. How I managed to make it 26 years on this earth before she came along I’ll never know.

The funny thing is, I was single until I was 35, I’m better in the kitchen than she is.

I just find it nice to not have to put in the effort of preparing something different every day or having to do any dishes.

When she’s gone, I’m fed and cleaned up in like, five minutes.

I’m also a vastly better cook than my wife, and I usually cook when she’s home. But when she’s not, time spent cooking a nice meal is time I’d rather spend in the garage.

If you’re older than I am, it just means that you’re closer to the goal.
