Tab DOWN and IN.
Here goes #3.
Also, when the guy said “one has cream” he literally mean, “one has cream”. As in, one of the cups was just cream. Oh well 3/4 ain’t bad

I’m sorry, but the caffeine has gone to your head and you are wrong. See those arrows? They point to the locking tab that secures the flap in the “UP” position. The only other possible way is to take a pocket knife and cut the flap off and drill a larger vent hole in the top for easier sipping.

The people who designed the lid are wrong, sorry.
Actually I picked this trick up from a friend... I though he was nuts too. But it works. It’s great for when you’re driving especially, because you don’t have to fumble with the flap to have a drink... and because the flap acts like a baffle it won’t slosh out even though it’s technically open. Also, the locking tab never locks properly, so you end up with coffee sprayed in your face when it lets go.

More than one way to skin a cat. I’ll give it a try.

Heck, I’ll take any method over the alternate cap style with one tiny oval hole that you never taste anything but plastic through.

Here’s a better design for you.
The opening stays closed to reduce spillage, but application of the upper lip to the little ramp pushes the flap down, providing access to the caffeinated goodness inside. If you prefer easier access and higher flow rates, flip the flap to lock it open.

This is... good. I like it.
I came here expecting to be shown one of those horrors with the tiny oval hole that you only taste hot plastic through and ready to tear a strip off the person who would recommend such a thing.
Consider yourself spared.

Wellllllllll... hot mildly flavoured water with some caffeine in it, unless you get the dark roast.
The caffeine content isn’t lacking though, really. It’s got 1.5 Red Bulls of caffeine in it.
Don’t they usually say 2 per day on those cans? meh

Those cup lids are pants anyway — once you open the tab it will never seal again, opening the tab requires tearing the lid, and the opening is too large when the tab is held open. There are much better ones out there, like the Solo Traveler:
Or the Dart Optima:

I can’t read “Handle With Care” without getting Traveling Wilburys stuck in my head. Part of the pain of being an 80s kid. Actually one of the least painful parts because the Wilburys are awesome.

This is not unlike the wine cork opening method I used when I was 19 and only had a Swiss army knife.

No. I hate those lids with an unbridled passion. You get nothing out of them except a burnt tongue and the taste of hot plastic. They’re awkward in the mouth. They don’t (top pic) seal or prevent slosh worth a damn either, and when they slosh it’s up into your face rather than just over the edge. They can all gtfo of my life.
Timmies started using them on some of their drinks once... I damn near swore off them permanently. TheRealBicyleBuck has a far better option.

Thankfully my booze comes with caps, not corks. Not a wine fan really. I’ll make a few exceptions and I’ll try anything once, but I won’t seek it out.

All the wine I drink now comes from 3L boxes (no, really). Before the boxed wine revolution, even the cheap stuff mostly had corks. Not Boone’s Farm, though. Gotta know your market.

I think any lid is better than when people inexplicably drive with regular coffee mugs. You know, the ones that are totally open? What are people thinking???

But obviously, the answer for the best lid is Contigo Autoseal . I love the fact you can lock it so you can never, ever, EVER spill it.
Contigo is quite evil and slowly keeps releasing bigger sizes. Their plan is working so I keep having to buy more mugs.

I don’t know, I do the small peel where it’s just barely further than the rim of the cup. That way I can sip it safely, since Tim Hortons makes their coffee roughly the temperature of molten lava!

Ew. GET OUT
I hate that style. I got mostly tongue-tip burns out of those that made the rest of the drink impossible to enjoy. And they took FOREVER to cool down, too.
