Is getting it fixed really going to be that bad? Is there some other major problem with the car? I would expect around $2500 for a rebuild at an independent shop. Doesn’t seem steep enough to just walk away from unless somebody is already making you a pretty good offer on Accord as-is right now with the blown transmission. I know it isn’t a cheap fix, but if all the car needs is a transmission it is probably a safer bet than throwing money at a used car that could potentially have hidden problems even if it is a Lexus.

Oof yeah that’s getting up there into time to walk away territory for sure. I’m kinda surprised the transmission is that high, but it could be a regional thing. Any idea if it is worth more now or if you have it repaired would you get more for it after deducting the cost of repair?
