Trying to prioritize Cougar parts needs. Gaskets, leaf springs, electronic ignition, exhaust...I’m hoping to chug through that in the next couple of months. I need to stay on point, 2017 is the year of suspension and brakes, so I’ll do that first. Front’s done, now it’s the rear that needs attention.

Work stuffs are rolling forward and the FoST is extra shiny thanks to another layer of sealant. The KLR is running great but I am still on the hunt for a good compass and some accessories for it. Hopefully joining a riding group soon to have riding friends. Lots of people on 250s/300s/500s so the speeds are low. Had to explain to a guy on a ninja 250 my KLR wasn’t really much quicker than his 250 despite an engine over twice his size....

In a way, their clever plan to make zillions of the things and lead to a decent aftermarket would sort of count. Out of pocket is really not bad on parts. It’s definitely out of warranty, though.

One of the upgrades I’m looking at is mufflers. The greatest, the best. Going to improve my exhaust characteristics bigly.

Today is transmission day! I have a shift kit to install to help my poor drivetrain out a bit. Won’t fix my final drive ratio but it should help make it feel a touch more “sporty”

Drove the Miata for the first time this week. The insurance company sent over someone to repair the windshield chip and I didn’t want the guy to work on a dirty car, which meant I left the car at home Monday + Tuesday. I also wanted the glue to drive overnight, so that crossed out the rest of Tuesday.

Wolfgang’s sealant is what I’ve been using. And the KLR is a big dual sport motorcycle. 650cc single cylinder, 21" front tire, and relatively unchanged since the late 80s.

Oh yeah. It runs and drives just fine. My goal is to get it to peppy daily driver status within the next 3 years. Which realistically means 6 years.

The 289 is going to get retired and some form of 302 (347, perhaps) will be put in place instead. 302/T5 combo of some sort.

I’ve got an almost full bottle of Klasse if you ever wanna try/use it. Acrylic sealant that I couldn’t ever use right.

I wasn’t sure but oppos recommend a trans go shift kit for my th350 automatic. Install looks pretty easy, actually. Supposed to sharpen the shifts by replacing some springs, and changing the location of some check balls. Think the kit was something like 60$. Also supposed to extend transmission life but idk how true that is.

I think it’s been close to a month since I washed the Chevelle. You’ll definitely know when we get there. I cannot stress it enough how loud it is now.
