It is a good read. It would be nice if whoever is reposting it here multiple times would just make a post about the article, linking to it though. A lot of us probably don’t have commenting privileges over on Gizmodo.

I listen to podcasts all day to get some “actual knowledge”. I prefer it not being casually shoved down my throat without an opportunity for discussion, repeatedly.

Yes, so now we just need whoever keeps reposting the original article to kindly stop. You’d think that if you posted something multiple times and the mods took it down, you’d figure out that they don’t want you to post it. It’s an important issue that deserves discussion. Cross posting to another blog where we’re all in the grays isn’t how that happens.

Yeah, but you know as well as me the person reposting it did it to make a point and rightly so.

But it’s true, I can only assume the person doing this wants to show back at those who think they can just shun anything that doesn’t conform to their weird backwards world view, especially when it pertains to women and how they are treated both in this community and historically.
Sure, the overpostingting upset some of you, but that was the purpose, to cause disruption and bring something to light. To go against the passive-agressive censorship of some.
This is my analysis at least.

In my opinion, if they felt that strongly about it they should have made a new post, with a brief explanation about why this article is so important and then included a link. Instead, they opted to repeatedly cross post an article after the mods took it down every time. That’s not how you persuade people that something is important.

Well, once again, that was my analysis, I have no control over things. I’m not the one doing this, quite clearly.

I don’t know that because I don’t know who reposted it or why because they are cowardly hiding behind an anonymous repost without direct discussion with them.
I can assume they want to “spread the gospel” that the article preaches so to speak, that they intend to educate people on oppo about the issue the article discusses. But I could also assume they simply want to stir shit, that they want Oppo to freak out so they can pretend Oppo is sexist as a result.
Assumptions do nothing positive for anyone. Whoever is posting this should be more upfront about what they are posting and why. Share it along with their viewpoint instead of leaving it to you or me to determine why it was shared.
