For some reason meter maids are allowed to drive these. I have seen a handful of them... One makes a run on the highway I take to work in the opposite direction and slows traffic.

Well, they’re on the other side of the road in the opposing lane. It’s no worse than the crazy people that ride motorcycles, IMHO.
