If I owned a GT, I’d have a 3M painter’s tape wrap.

I thought this car was meant to be used, abused? Didn’t Ford vet all the buyers? Like they didn’t want it babied?
My Golf R had 16k miles on it when I bought it 2yrs after it came out. I daily the shit out of it and it enjoys every minute. I don’t understand this waxing and telling it bedtime stories every night.

FWIW a Golf R =/= a Ford GT. But I understand your sentiment (and also love me an R). It’s also a bit presumptuous that he doesn’t drive it hard just because he’s trying to cut down on rock chips.
I drive my car hard as well, and I’m not the guy that’s clay baring or detailing it every weekend. Still, those chips on the hood still sting a bit when I see them. If I had a hyper car I would probably be taking similar precautions even (and especially) if I was ringing it out.

I hope he had it in race mode for photos and wasn’t driving on the roads with it all hunkered down like that. An arrant pothole probably would straight-up kill something that low.
