So I spent about two weeks traveling around Japan, from the capital to the smaller
inaka’s
(rural areas) and this is what I have found.
I saw a lot more am
azing cars pass me by, at times when I didn’t have my phone ready. These are the ones I was able to capture.
A common theme we found was that car owners would leave their cars on, with the hazard lights on and then be nowhere in sight. Only in Japan..
A recurring theme this vacation was Lincoln Navigators, in varying states of disrepair. This one was located at the Tsukiji Fish market
Only when you visit an asian country you realize how out of place a RHD BMW 320 looks.
Gotta love the RSFour
Brabus wheels? yeah sure
Do you see it?
Lorinser
All the cars in this parking garage were taken at Narita airport at 4 in the morning while we were spending the night there.. We may have re-enacted some scenes from Tokyo Drift with the baggage trolleys....
I enjoyed this short trip a lot, and I look forward to coming back here and actually be able to spend time on car related events.

Clicking the scroll wheel and dragging it down slowly may be easier on your hands next time, but hey glad you enjoyed it!

I think I enjoy Japan’s quirky parking spaces as much as the cars.

Of course you lead with an FN2. I know mechanically they’re a less-good 8th gen Si, but I want one so bad.

Ditto! I love everything from the little flaps that come up to prevent people from driving away until they’ve paid, to the double decker spots (which I guess are more common in the US now) tothe little parking elevator box buildings. All the colors and lines on the roads are completely foreign though, still not sure what many of it means.

All of my carpal tunnels are fully intact thanks to my gigantic Kensington trackball . Just wish the paint on the buttons was more durable.
(Actually I need to get a keyboard tray to hang under my desk and put both my keyboard and trackball at a better angle but I may be moving offices at some point in the near future so I’m waiting until after that to ask for the tray.)

How great is all that! Strangest thing for me was the Buick. And about 18 months ago I saw this in Tokyo:

In Bulgaria that is an operation known as “parking”. Commonly executed in such places as main roads, kerbs, parks, and council driveways.

Do you really leave your Ferrari on the side of the road in a busy street with the keys in it, the engine running and be nowhere in sight? doubt it..
