Meant to order 8mm rod ends with all RH thread, female. Now have one dozen LH thread M8 male rod ends. I am a moran.
I will be able to make these work (lol welder), but sheesh.

Put a left hand thread on one end and a right hand on the other, with a jam nut. This way you can adjust your lengths without removing them from the vehicle.

See, that would make sense except that the original plan was to do things the easy way and use the M8 die to thread the ends of a piece of rod. Since removing them from the vehicle wasn’t going to be hard, that would have made installation to the rod much easier. But no.

At least they don’t make it as easy to order drunk as Amazon does: you had to work, a little, at buying the wrong parts, but you didn’t also semi-accidentally order 15 other things you didn’t need.

Counterpoint: I need everything at Amazon. Everything.

Local auto parts stores had an 02 Exploder window switch for $106 or more. Found one on carparts.com for 25 including shipping. It lasted about 8 seconds before it started smoking. Took both to the local auto parts (name not mentioned). We found that there are 2 models. One I bought was $66 local but the one I need is actually $136. Ouch! Lesson learned, again. Buy local cause these guys know more than I do. Talk to people.

Oh, I knew what I needed. I was just completely checked out. Also, my use of the parts is definitely not factory approved, so I am the person who knows most by default. Horrifyingly. I regularly get the “you want a what for what?” reaction at the parts store.

Update: was going to just weld everything, then it occurred to me that Tractor Supply has cheesy 5/16 turnbuckles, and that 24tpi ~ 25.4 tpi, so three of those for the links that have to adjust (~$10 total?), some welding, some threading of rod, and YOLO.

Hmm, good to know. We just got a Tractor Supply here, might have to see what kind of odd ball stuff they have for fun.

Misspelling of “moron” is intentional. It is a self-referencing joke, popularized by a meme of a man with a sign reading “get a brain, morans”.

It would take a very special sort of moron to misspell “moron”. More so than misspelling “misspell”, which is weird.
