I survived a long day and am treating myelf to tacos and beer. I had a 290 mile round trip to Salinas, and 3 meetings with 3 of my most demanding clients - all of whom I really want to help as much as I can.

Each is a successful businessperson - far more than me. All 3 came from nothing in poor, minority communities, and each could buy me many times over. These are really good people who treat their workers well. I am proud to represent them. But they challenge me, as they should for $350 an hour. They tax my brain.

After the last meeting ended after 5 pm, It took me over 3 hours to get home due to 4 accidents within 20 miles of each other.

I’ve just finished another night with stupid people. Got a new manager who wants to put his mark on the store and has a genius idea to do something, the way we did it 14 years ago. He’s a total and utter prick.

So I’m finishing off the stupid and having a nice cheese burger with pickled gherkins and hot salsa sauce on a toasted brioche bun.

Majesty chips (I love the purple colour).

And until I find another proper job I shall have to settle for this one.

Which is bloody good.

You need to eat at 5pm. in Salinas. You would be surprised how a leisurely drive at 6 or 6:30 it is. 101? or 1? south
