Because of the prices I thought these were rare in the US. The western US is still lousy with VW busses.

There’s both a 21 window and a 23 window - both of those seem to be the biggest $$ ones. Other than having 2 more windows, I have no idea what the difference is - - I just find the whole thing amusing, so I tend to look at them on BaT or wherever. A lot of old car prices are silly, but I think the VW Buses are the height of insanity.

It’s some kind of Ken Kesey/Grateful Dead nostalgia trip, I guess. I love old cars, and I’d happily take a car from this era on a road trip - but there’s NFW I’d go in one of these things. Between the fact that there’s virtually nothing protecting you from any front end accident, and the limited speeds they’re capable of, forget it. Nice to look at, I guess...
