On a four cylinder diesel generator. Those hose clamps are just normal sized hose clamps.

that’s interesting. I’m really curious how small the turbo is on my kei car. I’ll post up when it arrives early next year.

How big is “normal size”?

The turbo in the Abarth doesn’t look much bigger. Tiny Garrett ball bearing turbo is tiny!

Big and heavy enough that, when you pick it up, you need a plan for how you’re going to hold it

1/4 or 5/16 head screws. The oil line is about the same size.

I’ll have to dig out a picture of a mobile Jet-A pumping unit we had at LAX. The engine was a tiny little 3-cyl diesel, with an itty-bitty turbo the size of a baseball IIRC. I was thinking of all the cool places it could be installed, like a Ninja 250 or lawn tractor.

I saw a VW rabbit turbo diesel motor in a junk yard once. That turbo was about as big as my fist, and I have small hands.

What’s the advantage to turbocharging a generator?

Power/weight. The damned this already weights 650LBs.

Turbo looks roughly the same size as the r56 minis
