My upstairs neighbors are loading up the U-Haul right now, and within hours will be headed north to Chicago. No more loud parties, no more cigarette butts in my mailbox, no more beer spilled all over my entryway or dog shit on my lawn (for now, at least). Hopefully the landlord will find more reasonable tenants for that unit this time around, like he did with the rear unit.
I thought at least I was going to get a nice Weber grill out of this deal. It’s been sitting in our front yard for over a year, and one of the animals said that they weren’t taking it and that I could keep it if I wanted it. But when I stepped out this evening it was gone :(

If your annoying neighbor path follows mine, the party animal will be replaced by a young couple with a stupid annoying obese 3 year-old who they fatten up with junk food and allow to run around in circles (or in my case, up and down the stairs since they’re in the townhouse next to me) screaming for 3 hours at a time.

That’swhat I had before the party animals. The living room was their playground so it was balls and tricycles. I wanted them gone and then I got the animals. Be careful what you wish for. And thus is why I want to buy a house.

After much annoyance we were able to get the neighbors to knock off the multiple-hours-long running/screaming fits. There is occasional yelping but that mostly happens while I’m at work. It annoys my wife though because she works second shift and it often happens late morning while she’s still at home.
We also want to buy a house.

When a real estate agent brings someone around to out street, and we’re outside to witness it, we all sashay over to chat them up. We call it the neighborhood interview. If we like them, we encourage them with stories of block parties and other good times. Offering them a drink helps too.

In both of my houses I’ve had annoying neighbors, including a party animal. Just because there’s some space between houses doesn’t mean the party animal won’t bring his fun to you. My last neighbor used to use the area between our houses as a toilet when he would throw a party on his front porch. Going inside was too much work.
