How’d you do that?

(I’ve been there.)

Had a really bad horseback riding accident back in the 90s, but I don’t think that’s it. I honestly think it’s a pulled muscle that I’ve pulled before while taking a misstep - also a while ago. Steps are out of the question, but we live on one floor, so there’s that. Every time I pull it it’s worse, so this morning featured me making lots of noise and crawling to the bathroom.

Mine is muscle related as well (hip flexors/soaz). Had to get steroids and muscle relaxers the last time. Trying to get better about stretching regularly.

I remember when I would hear people say “I threw my back out” and I would immediately think them to be full of it. Until I reached for the shampoo one morning and had to lie in bed for the next couple of days and crawl to the bathroom.

Hope it is better soon. That’s the worst.

Have you tried drinking hard liquor?

My back went out so bad one time I had to CRAWL into the house from the car.

Ugh. That sucks. I’ve been nearly immobile before - the worst part for me is knowing that the slightest wrong move in the wrong direction could result in terrible pain.

Doing some stretches in my chair at work now...

Been to the doctor enough this year ... I probably should get this checked if it doesn’t clear soon, but I’m stubborn that way.

I kn0w - it’s not as if you’re trying to throw a javelin (let’s have at least one automotive reference) - it’s some dumb little thing you attempt and suddenly .... “Well, yes, doctor, I hurt myself rearranging my spice rack ....” Ugh - sounds dumb.

I have a friend that says drinking a drink or two helps when she gets migraines. Looses things up or something. I’ve tried it when I get a headache from a knot in my neck but I don’t notice much help if any

It’s not legal here yet, and Gov Cuomo is being a dick about it. He’s essentially a Republican in Dem clothing supporting a system that gives the GOP control of state government because of ... reasons. Still, I hold out hope.

Not worth suffering if it’s not better very soon.

Hate to hear that ... you obviously have issues daily that I have rarely.

I have tightness in my lower back/upper glutes that builds up over time (made worse by too much sitting at work and home), but have only had a few instances over several years of really bad pain where I’ve had to get help.

Yeah, my dog was totally confused.

“Hey Dad! You’re back...why are you down here where I am?”

This is sort of putting your foot down a bit too soon, then pain in my lower back when it drops the rest of the way. I’ll be fine.

The cats are pretty cool no matter where I am, but if I make a sudden move they worry. I should try not to fall down.

I feel your pain... or at least I have. What works for me is ice. Typically those sandwich sized freezer packs, but anything icy cold. put under/behind your back and move it every couple of minutes from muscle group to group. After 20 minutes and 4-5 repositionings, I’m usually able to move about the cabin as long as there is no sudden turbulence. Or you can get the muscle relaxants. You should definitely give them a try, but they may leave you so rubber-legged and uncoordinated that you will be unable to move confidently about the cabin, even though your back doesn’t hurt. Hope you are back to vertical and fully functioning soon!

Do you think cats watch cat videos on YouTube at night while we sleep? Do they think other cats are dumbasses when they freak out about a cucumber?
