And with the exception of a couple of maintenance issues, it’s quite good.
The sunroof even works.

What does it smell like?

Don’t tell me these things. I’ve been telling my wife that when a good example of that generation of Suburban comes down to $5k we’re getting one from the South with no rust. Well... hmm

It’s in pretty great condition for it’s mileage(230k). You aren’t going to find another 8.1 for that price.

Fine. Non-smoker, non-doggo. Reminds me of my 4Runner.

Every 8.1 I’ve seen at this point has leaky injectors, so watch out for a rough/flooded cold start. Just floor it to disable the injectors while you crank.

8.1 liters of v8 is just... insane.

We’ve already put a few hundred in it, and haven’t even started the return trip, but it was things that we knew needed done.

I’m going to take this opportunity to remind you that the Silverado was available with a 6-speed Manuèl behind the 8.1.

Eh, I like the Suburban better.

I’ll continue the reminder by suggesting that certain components of the Silverado can be unbolted and then bolted into the Suburban.

The trans is fine and cheap when it’s not. I’d rather not. That said, my Dad was a bit sad when realizing he didn’t have a clutch pedal anymore.

I would be down to enable his frown turning upside down. Remotely, with only verbal encouragement.
