Yes, the new Phantom is officially out.
It’s a bit shorter, a bit higher and quite a bit heavier. It has one of those BMW sticky-up BMW aerials at the back of the roof.
The important thing though is that it’s quite a lot more expensive. Quite right too. Who wants a cheap Royce?
*Royce, not Rolls. Royce was the engineer and Rolls the salesman.

Doesn’t mean anything to me anymore in lbs I’m afraid, but it’s 2,625 kg or 2.6 tonnes. That’s a lot of Royce.
Back in the day they used to use hundredweight for cars so 53 cwt. That’s also a lot of Royce.

Agree wholeheartedly on the fact that they should be called Royces and not “Rolls” (or, heaven forbid, “Rollers”.)
But calling Rolls just “the salesman”... he funded the venture, after all.

A Royce is not subject to frequent changes to tie in with the latest trend.
That’s for the masses.

“Faggot” is an archaic unit of measure, among other innocuous archaic uses that are no longer relevant, usually 120lb each.

So what the hell did Rolls do? How much work did it really take to sell the best cars on earth?
