Big ol’ piece of tree to be running through a planer, those Dewalts are beasts though. How that not crack drying and also what type of wood.

I just bought one of those planers and doing so opened up many possibilities.

Dad actually had to jury rig the planer to take that size piece, and he’s still trying to figure the best way to feed it through. It has cracked, and so he will mount it with the big ones in back, but honestly, they’re not that big of a deal in my opinion. Tree was an oak that the gas company made us cut down.

I applaud your use of the planelopnik tag. The first picture made me think this was a photo dump of some type of vintage plane build / restoration project. Then I saw the plane.
