You can’t really see it very well in this picture, but trust me. See that blob of a midsize CUV? No no, the other one, the black one. It has a sticker of the windshield that reads “SPORTY”
I don’t know what planet would deem a blob of a midsize CUV to be sporty, but it sure as shit ain’t this one.

Infinity crossovers based on 370z platform (& vq37) are surprisingly sporty.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:07 |

Have you driven an FX? It’s not a Miata, but it’s pretty sporty.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:08 |

No.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:08 |

Blob.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:09 |

Alrighty then, drive one, get back to me.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:13 |

Isn’t that one basically a G35/7 wagon? Sporty for a crossover
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:14 |
|
I dunno, the FX is actually a bit sporty.
If it was on the Equinox then I might question it.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:17 |
|
That’s because the FX is basically a Lifted Z wagon. It absolutely IS sporty.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:18 |
|
Well, when you spend all your time sitting on the sofa eating cheese balls and drinking Dr. Pepper, then “sporty” is relative.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:19 |

I agree with the general sentiment but, you could get a BMW X1 (a tall 3 series wagon) with a 3 liter turbocharged inline 6. There are always some exceptions.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:19 |
|
Yeah the fx35 is probably the sportiest crossover you can buy. It’s basically a lifted hot hatch with a 350z motor
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:26 |

Crazie Kanuck is correct.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:33 |

This is the only convincing point.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:34 |

Blob.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:34 |
|
No. Is blob.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:34 |
|
It’s a blob. Not saying it’s a bad car, but it’s a blob.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:35 |

My moms X6 having the smallest engine available (3L turbo6) handles really good, & had lots of kick. It has so much grip in the corners, but it has the optional 315 section tires in the back & 275 section’s up front.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:35 |
|
It’s “sportier” that the Equinox, no doubt. Still a blob.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:35 |
|
The FX started the idea of a crossover being sporty, I’d drive one
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:35 |
|
No. Is blob.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:36 |
|
I’m thin for a sumo wrestler.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:37 |
|
I’m not saying it’s a bad vehicle, but it’s still just a blob.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:37 |
|
Drive this and a Miata back to back. Then you’ll see how sporty it is.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:40 |
|
I disagree I’ve always like the looks of it. Especially in a less boring color. Especially since this was on the market at the same time as he first gen for Edge, the king of all blobs
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:42 |
|
Yes but it’s a sporty blob.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:42 |
|
Disagree, the fx is a rather sporting cuv. It’s just got a higher center of gravity, but it’s a fun drive.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:43 |
|
And I thought you could get those with the V8 as well.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:50 |
|
I think it’s ugly.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:51 |
|
I personally think this and the Edge are both fairly ugly blobs.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:51 |
|
I don’t fit in Miatas.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:52 |
|
But it looks like ... that!
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:52 |
|
I’m not really into BMWs, but something about the X1 just looks right to me. I dig it.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:55 |
|
Well I’m sure that big Infiniti is slightly less sporty than a Miata.
But more sporty than anything Kenworth makes.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 21:59 |
|
So is an Enzo.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 22:00 |
|
it’s got coop like handerling though
![]() 07/25/2017 at 22:04 |
|
Yeah, I’ve always hated the way Enzos look. They’re at least sporty though :)
![]() 07/25/2017 at 22:04 |
|
I suspect you’re right on the money there.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 22:06 |
|
It’s BMWs way of getting people into wagons instead of SUVs, I love them for that.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 22:07 |
|
It worked on my boss.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 22:12 |

When I was in my 20s, there were sports cars and sporty cars. You didn’t want the sporty car - those were the ones where the cladding and stripes were the only performance upgrades.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 22:18 |

It was very well thought out by BMW, raise the ride height a few cm, give it chunkier proportions, and use the X designation.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 22:44 |
|
I thought it was eating Chetoes and watching pornos.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 23:29 |
|
Don’t worry
![]() 07/25/2017 at 23:30 |
|
The FX is a sporty blob.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 23:44 |
|
Blobby mommywagons are sports cars. Really. I’m serious. They are.
![]() 07/25/2017 at 23:55 |
|
Same difference.
![]() 07/26/2017 at 00:44 |
|
I’m convinced those sticker blurbs are put on as a joke because I have never seen one that fit the car.
![]() 07/26/2017 at 06:53 |
|
Good point!
![]() 07/26/2017 at 06:54 |
|
It’s how I live my life!
![]() 07/26/2017 at 06:55 |

I remain unconvinced.
![]() 07/26/2017 at 08:43 |

Engrish?
![]() 07/26/2017 at 09:32 |
|
No you are.
![]() 07/26/2017 at 10:52 |

WTF, the Chevy thing in the foreground says, “Family Size” like it’s a 4lb package of ground beef. Yeah, thanks I can see it’s big.
Side note: I’ve always liked how the FX
sounds.
I remember when they first appeared on the market I could pick them out in city traffic noise, very distinctive.
Maybe the FX should just say, “Relatively Sporty!”
![]() 07/26/2017 at 10:53 |
|
e.g. Family Size on the car in the foreground. Yeah, I see it’s big, but I can fit the same number of people in my Civic.
![]() 07/26/2017 at 11:25 |
|
Ah but the worse part is that sticker actually means two people plus their crap when they “Family Size.” For an actual family, you’ll need a bus.
![]() 07/26/2017 at 12:07 |
|
Also true. I know blobs when I see them. This is a blob.
