As always, Dave Chappelle is appropriate.

Life’s too short to have an ugly pistol, son.

How hard is it to shoot through 6 watermelons? What is this demonstration supposed to be?

I mean, if he pulled the trigger and EVERYOTHER watermelon exploded, I’d be pretty impressed. I’m guessing that’s not the case.

The raging judge is the Glock of the revolver world. Effective but god awful ugly.

It won’t win any beauty contests, that’s for sure. I think the Mateba is worse though.

Well yeah, but no one buys the Mateba, so we don’t have to see them lol. The Chiappa is up there too.

Oh God the Rhino. I forgot.

Here, take this Colt python and smash it with a rock for a few hours.

It’s a shame Pythons are becoming so expensive. I had the honor of shooting one once and the pull is so ridiculously smooth, it was inimitable.

I haven’t shot one in years but I still want one bad. Not just because they’ve built up such a reputation. I wanted one even when they were still being made.

If you think that’s ugly let me introduce you to the Chiappa Raging Rhino.

>Implying a bastard revolver/shotgun hybrid made my Taurus is a good idea

Taurus’ guns are famously poor quality and unreliable - do you really want to try shooting a heavy magnum load out of one? .410, especially out of a pistol barrel, is a joke. A .410 slug barely more effective than the .45 Long Colt you can also shoot out of it, and the shot load is very light. Also, the minimal rifling leads to shitty patterning with shot and mediocre accuracy with actual .45LC bullets. The Raging Judge is a poorly built, dumb idea that’s bad as a revolver and a shotgun.

Glocks, for all of their ugliness and mediocre ergonomics, work and work well.

Their revolvers are less bad than their semiautos*, but they aren’t great. You really want to check one over - timing, end shake, and fit and finish - before buying one. Then you have to hope it doesn’t fall out of timing from poor heat treating of the internals even if it does look good. That’s not to say all of them are junk, but the percentage of failure is much higher than anyone else.

* I’ve heard their Beretta 92 clones are pretty good, but that’s because they bought an entire production line - tooling, gauges, machinery, and training - from Beretta in the 80's, so someone competent worked the bugs out of them.

Having a revolver fall out of time is a very unpleasant experience...
