I just finished my exam and I’m feeling good about it. While enjoying some beer, I’m pondering my dinner options. After my exam, I went to buy some victory beers but also found rib eye steak on sale at the grocery store. However, I have been thinking about fried chicken since last night when I found out there’s a new place that delivers Korean fried chicken, which is essential since this is not my first beer.
Basically, the choice is either rib-eye and salad (which is the cheap option and I have all the ingredients already and would cook it myself) or delivery fried chicken, (which isn’t cheap, since it’ll run me almost $40 for basically a whole fried chicken with tax/delivery/tip) but should be delicious and I also really, really love fried chicken. Chances are that the one I don’t pick today will be the one I eat tomorrow or later this weekend anyway.
So, that brings me to the two essential questions I wanted to ask in my post: What are you eating tonight, Oppo? Should I eat fried chicken or a rib-eye steak?

$40 all in for fried chicken is absurd......

I got a cure notice from a customer today, so I’m eating nothing but Lagavulin 16.
Steak.

You’re right, there’s a sizable delivery fee and tip included in there, and it’s probably enough chicken for three meals since that’s how much a typical whole chicken will last for me. Also, that’s with a hefty tax and in Canadian dollars.
So I take it you’d go for the rib-eye? I do love steak.

I had to lookup what a cure notice was, and if what you’re talking about is the same thing as the first link I clicked on my Google search , that sounds bad.
However, steak is not a bad decision and I really, really wish I had some Lagavulin.

I’ll be cooking a “Home Chef” not sure what is left this week though. Normally I would say that you should go with the steak, but ribeye isn’t my favorite cut, so hit the Fried chicken.
Side note: Victory’s brewery is less than 10 minutes from my house.

Yep. Kitchen needs renovation. I need a building permit. I need drawings for the building permit. I need an arch/engineer for the drawings. Drawings are almost done and work was going to start next week, but my customer jumped the gun so now I’m here.

I mean, I love a good rib-eye but I also love top notch fried chicken. Its just that I know I can get very good fried chicken for $15, that’s 4 breasts and 4 wings.

I wish that were the case here, fried chicken in general is pretty rare when you exclude the fast-food stuff, and even then there aren’t a lot of the fast-food chicken places to begin with.

which one? I have one 15 mins or so from my house, the one in Kennett Square. Haven’t been to the Downingtown location in a while. Been hitting the Sour Monkey lately...Kirsch Gose as well.

Downingtown is closest to me. I’ve been on a west coast IPA kick for a while, but Bells “Two Hearted” is what’s in my fridge at the moment. I used to drink Golden Monkey a lot and then get in trouble.

I decided to walk over to the Outback steakhouse a few blocks from my house for some “authentic” “Australian” “cuisine”. But mostly for several large beers.
