If they’re happy to keep the car if it doesn’t sell. Then why are they selling it?

Another 5-10 years and it will be worth even more than what they’re asking, especially with that low mileage and if they returned it to stock. Still, it’s very annoying when people act like they don’t even want to sell the car.

At that price, maybe they aren’t selling it :)

I have simple guideline for posting ads for stuff:
Provide a description of the item, its condition, and price.
I don’t need the bullshit commentary. I don’t care how much this means to you or your family. All that trash gets wiped clean the second the title transfers. The end.
I once wrote a 1000 word essay about a pickup truck I was selling and realized (once I was done), nobody gives a flying turd about any of this crap.
Description, condition, price. The market will decide the rest.

Ya probably, at least he didn’t put “If you try and negoatiate the price will go up”
It’s weird though, when I was in middle school one of the dads from my hockey team had an E46 M3 and I thought it was the coolest. But now they don’t really do much for me.

If it had the Tan/brown interior it would be perfect.

BAT’s probably the high-water mark for E46 M3 pricing right now so while they are a little high on this price they probably aren’t crazy. See the link below. I was actually surprised - I thought they were $15k too high.
Of course who knows where prices on E46 M3s will go. I personally think they will go up as the last analog M3s but it’s possible they will languish between the E30 and E9x M3s (last normally aspirated M3s). I certainly don’t think the current M3/4s will ever have any long-term collectibility.

But see this other one in a somewhat worse color combo (and to me red is a way worse color) that went for $26k.

Personally I’d rather have this but I’m weird:

I really wonder what the E9Xs are going to do in the future. Last NA M car, and only M3 to come with a V8. I don’t see the current M3/M4 being collectible either, maybe the M2, but not the M3/M4. Maybe manual ones some day.
Also, I don’t think it’s weird to want an E30 over an E46.

“If you try and negoatiate the price will go up”
Cool, call me in 3 months when it hasn’t sold. If you put your car on the market then it’s for a reason. If you really don’t want to sell your car, don’t put it on the market.

I legitimately saw that once on an ad for an e46 328i that had been drift broed (brod?) to the max. I genuinely hope someone didn’t buy that car.

That particular E30 needed work as opposed to that relatively perfect E45, but yeah for comparable cars I’d always take the E30.
I don’t know if the V8 is the important part, since BMW is known for I6 motors and the V10 M5 doesn’t get a lot of love (but then again looks work against it). I do think the last NA M car will make it worth more in later years, especially in the better trims (and of course manual).
One funny quirk about me is that despite being a big BMW fanatic I have never owned any kind of 3'er. Almost pulled the trigger on a 4-door 2008 M3 years ago but got an E39 M5 instead. So I’ve had a 1'er, three 5'ers, 6'er, 8'er, i8, 3.0CSi, Z3, X3, X1, but nothing in the most popular line. Again, never said I’m not weird.
By the way if you want an M6GC let me know. Too big for the city and the DCT hates the hills and being driven in city traffic.
