Yuengling’s Ice Cream. Yes, that Yuengling. They started making ice cream during prohibition to stay in business, and stopped in the ‘70s or ‘80s. My grandpa, being from Orwigsburg, PA (shoutout to RCR) worked at their ice cream factory in the ‘50s as a summer job. He quit because “it’s the best ice cream in the world, and they gave me as much as I wanted for free. I gained 15 pounds the first month”. When I saw it in the grocery store, I knew I had to pick some up, and...

...Pop-Pop is right! Holy fuck this ice cream is good. Glad to know the local grocery store carries it! I highly recommend it. I’m gonna bring him some tomorrow, because I don’t know that he knows that it’s being made again.

Sorry Yuengling fans, but the University of Wisconsin makes the world’s best ice cream , which isn’t even the best frozen dairy dessert in Wisconsin, because anyone who’s anyone knows frozen custard is better than ice cream anyway.

Fresh from the factory store , at the two student unions, or packed in pints and gallons at Madison-area grocery stores. Custard comes from Culver’s or any number of local custard stands.

So far we haven’t seen it in Ohio except at some Sheetz gas stations and I’m just a couple hours from Pittsburgh. Wish they would sell it at grocery stores because the two closest Sheetz stations are a pain to use. Both are ones where you stand in line behind 5-6 people or more to get gas because only one register will be open.
