I was moving some things around in my garage and found this tag behind some old cans of paint that I haven’t touched in the 6 years I’ve lived in this house. Apparently the PO left it behind - those are their initials. I’ve never seen this style of ND plate before and I would’ve thought it was a novelty thing if it weren’t for the stack of registration stickers. I like that they let you do the “&” there. No “&” in TX, but we can do stars and hearts for some reason.

very cool find

I would never guess that one could get “&” on a plate.

Indeed - I’m too lazy to look now, but I’m guessing only a handful of states allow it. I’m 99% sure you can in Virginia too but that’s the only other one I’ve ever seen.

I would have guessed 0 or 1 state.

Most of the time you can get special characters on plates but they’re not part of the actual number. At least that’s how it is in NC. Say you order a plate “JOHN’$ CAR”, the sticker would say “JOHNCAR”.
