I had time to fit them and go for a quick drive today. All the good roads are clogged going towards the coast. On a weekday I will go on the mountain and up the coast. But I am pretty satisfied, you would never guess they were chromed fiberglass, even standing next to it. They are a little springy because of how they are built so I had to mark it out and put my knee on the bulge for pressure. It’s pretty nerve wracking drilling into the new paint but it’s for a higher purpose and the ring would cover any mistakes. I can’t see them driving so it doesn’t enhance my driving pleasure, just makes me nervous to get close to anything. I stopped at the store and parked on the empty side in the shade. I’m that guy now.

It looks great! Really think this is how they intended the design of the 240Z!

Yeah they were for sure, they were thinking of the 60's Ferraris and Jags I think when they tried to design an all around sports car for the people. Americans aren’t used to it because they were banned, although I don’t think they were banned in 1969 so I’m not sure why the first cars imported didn’t have the covers. I hear Americans say they like the cars without covers, I don’t get that, once you see the covers on the design makes more sense to me.

Looks good, I’m not sure I could bring myself to drill into the bodywork...

Yeah, they really complete the shape of the nose, similarly as they do on the E-type.

Yeah I paused but it’s the only way! The headlights are in a separate piece, not the fender, but we just welded up a bunch of side trim holes so it isn’t a big deal. I like them so they are staying anyway.
