This is the work truck for my shift in Alaska on the North Slope. It’s a diesel with a bunch of extra stuff attached to it. It’s about 12 feet tall.

We will be working a total of 5 weeks straight, 12 hour days. The mosquitoes are ungodly when it gets warm. It’s been 70F up here a few times already. It’s crazy. Caribou, fox, swan, and grizzly have been spotted. Darkness has not been seen. The sun just kind of roams around.

No alcohol, no women, no days off and no night time. Wish me luck.

I never liked tobacco, and only drink anything with caffeine when I need to drive/ride long distances haha. At least the food is decent. Did I mention there’s no privacy? I’m just going to work, eat, sleep, do pushups and maybe sob, until I can leave.

I do inspections of pipes, using ultrasonic equipment, which goes in the back of the truck. So yeah, it’s a big giant work truck.

Suck it up sunshine. 7 months away from zapS.sM, then 90 days here then 15 months separated.. No running water for 3-4 months. Sleeping in a tent during summer in Iraq.

Thanks for your service! I definitely know how truly good and easy I have it, it’s just a huge change of pace for me. I get cranky when I can’t ride motos or see the mountains haha.
