I want a Volt. I don’t know why - I just do.

I’ve had mine almost a year and definitely like it. I drive a bit over 100 miles round trip for work and use less than 1.5 gallons of gas. I’m trying to figure out a way to charge at work. One thing to bear in mind it does suggest premium.

I wonder if those have a quick detach like real fuel pumps for when a dumass drives off with it attached.

I could also see people in hook and throw it back at the station like it’s an air chuck filling up tires. But when electric cars cost so much I can see how those kind of people can’t afford it

I always thought that the production version looked better than the show car, although my opinion seems to be in the minority. It’s also one of my favorite cars in Forza.

I don’t have anywhere to charge one at my current house as I have to do street parking, something that explains the damage to my Mazda, none of it my fault. And my commute is only 2.3 miles each way, so economy isn’t the main reason for wanting one.

I haven’t checked lately - what are the going rates for used ones these days?

I want one as well, but I am trying to be a responsible adult and have other financial obligations.

Bay area Craigslist shows some starting around $11K last I checked.

Premium is if the gas engine doesn’t work often, since regular gas will go bad faster.

No quick detach. There’s a button that has to be pushed to disconnect and one solid cable going back to the charger. I can’t speak for all electric cars, but if you get into the volt and close the door while it’s still plugged in the horn honks and you get a message on the gauge cluster saying it’s plugged in.

I know with Teslas you can’t shift them into drive or reverse while plugged in. I’ve never tried to do it with my Volt, but I’m assuming there would at least be a warning honk at least, if it would even let you shift at all.

Yeah, I generally fill with mid-grade since my gas engine runs fairly regularly. I do actually see a reduction in range between premium and mid grade though; around 285miles for a tank of mid grade versus 310miles with premium. I’m even considering an e-85 tune since it’s substantially cheaper in my area.

Depending on where you are in the country I’ve seen them from $11k-15k for a 2013-2014.

I know that feeling. The Mazda5 will be paid off in less than three months, and I’d like an old Miata as a plaything, but only if I can pay cash. But first I need a house with a garage, so that really needs to be a higher priority...

I was used to premium for the BMWs, Porsche and MB, so that’s not a deal breaker. At last check it was only $2.29/gal over at Costco on Friday.

The whole thing where it has a high beltline, but they tried to hide it with black plastic really bothers me.

the volt would fit my commute perfectly. i just wish the dealer would come down a little. They just keep selling, so they only ever have 1 on the lot. .

Yeah, the one wear I bought mine had three on the lot when I bought it, but the one I bought was the only one that had been there more than a couple days. Oddly enough the reason it hadn’t sold and why I got some money off was because it’s blue. They apparently can’t keep white or silver ones on the lot, but no one wanted blue except me.
