Yeah I have looked at some 1970s liveries that were used by Datsun and there is one I like that wouldn’t be too tough. But I worry I’ll do the graphics and end up not wanting it. I do graphics application a work so I wouldn’t be paying for labor.

Have you done vinyl application before? It’s pretty easy, just take your time. Looking forward to seeing the end result!

If it turns out bad, it’s just vinyl.

I like to secure one end with painter’s tape after lining it up how it’s to be applied (making sure it’s straight, etc). The tape will stick to the backing, so this will allow it to stay still while you begin to pull the ‘inner’ paper off and slowly work down the length of the decal, adhering it to the car. Remove the tape and the ‘outer’ paper as normal.

Kind of hard to explain, but I’m sure there’s a million youtube videos on how to do it, most of which are probably better than my method.

That’s the way to do it.

You can also hinge it in the middle with tape and just squeegee from the middle out. That’s helpful on longer pieces that can be a pain to handle all at once.

Like Dragon said, if it turns out bad it’s just vinyl. You can always remove it.

Stripes are polarizing on these cars. I reserve judgement until we see the results, but really the only thing when you’re done is if you like it or not.
