I made my wife happy by taking her refrigerator shopping - ours is at least 25 years old. I bet it sucks a ridiculous amount of power.
In exchange, she let me buy some Craftsman wrenches at Sears.

I just ordered parts to fix the ice dispenser in my fridge after cleaning my cabinets washing the dog, I also took the jet ski out for a couple of hours this morning while the lake was empty so I could go fast. All and all a good day. Did you find the fridge with the built in Keurig machine?

Furniture and appliance shopping are two things that always make me feel like a grown up. I look at them, and look at the pricetag, and them marvel that I’m actually going to spend real money on this stuff.

Get that KitchenAid or and LG, LG preferably. I can not stress enough how much you should not buy a Samsung. They are absolute garbage when it comes to longevity and the warranty service sucks. For reference my background is formerly 2 1/2 years as the head appliance salesman at the local Lowes store. Kitchenaids are made by whirlpool and share many components with them, (almost all), they are also truly made I. America, if that matters to you. That being said, LG seems to be the clear winner in everything except style (some people find them to modern looking). Service men for LG’s are not quite as plentiful as for the “KitchenAid, Maytag, Whirlpool” Brand. Some companies like Lowes will also do a “price match plus”. Which means they will price match someone else and beat it by let’s say 10%. The last thing I would advise is to buy a warranty. It really isn’t a ploy to get more money, (ok it is, but only on the 2 or 3 year warranties) the new appliances are just that crappy. If you decide to get a warranty get the 4 or 5 year one as the others are just a waste of money, it will probably not have problems inside the 3 year mark. Good luck, sorry about dumping all this uninvited info, I just hate to see people buy a piece of crap that they are going to regret purchasing.

None of these stupid freezer on the bottom types are at all suited to storing large bottles.
I just spent two hours explaining why drawings without scales are useless. I’m now dead inside

Please excuse the crudity of this model I didn’t have time to paint it or build it to scale.

Tired. I spent all night out with Miss Dodge (absolutely wonderful night, as usual) and now I’m kinda in my temporary room, thinking about what happened over the weekend and grumbling about my new work schedule starting tomorrow. 10 hour shifts, 4 days a week. At least I get Friday off and the schedule is only for the summer!

I’d assume that for $2200 the fridge at least partially preps the meals for you, at which point I’d be impressed too!

Funnily enough we replaced our Samsung (which was in the house when we bought it) for an LG a couple of years ago. The LG is much better uses about half the power, much more space inside (they are both the same size, they had to be as the kitchen cabinets are built around it, has much faster water and ice dispenser, is quieter etc etc. So yes I agree, I know 3 other people with Samsung “American style” fridge freezers (as we call them over here) and they have all died early deaths.

We have a Samsung fridge that came with the new house we bought two years ago. We bought a drop-in range and new Microwave/vent to match. Zero complaints as of yet.

Sheeet if only. I remember paying about that much for our French door w/ freezer on bottom... my wallet about ran down the street. But damn if it isn’t nice! Only regret (6yrs running) is that the water dispenser doesn’t fit a Nalgene size bottom.

My fridge will be old enough to drink next year, works fine (if anything I need to turn the freezer down [as in warmer]). That said, I would recommend to you a bottom freezer - I don’t have it but I know those who do and it’s wonderful.

I don’t think I could bring myself to spend more on a literal appliance than I’ve bought (multiple) cars for

OMG Tell me what you end up getting. My parents are getting a new fridge right now and we’re learning towards Samsung because the price and features look right. But I love the Kitchenaid one because of the Pro-Style straight handles and gray interior.

Meh, it’s something that you use everyday and something that you expect to keep all the food you spent lots of money on fresh and edible. I don’t expect to replace ours until we move in a couple years so 8-9yrs of use for me is money well spent

I really miss my job where I worked 4 10-hour days a week. That extra day off each week was amazing. Naturally, that all depends on what type of job you have, and what the days off are.

Just looking at the samsung in the top picture, not only are the doors not level with each other but the fact that it says O FF instead of OFF annoys the crap out of me.

That’s fair, I live alone and spend enough time on the road for work that I don’t have a ton of food in it usually anyway.

When I was attempting to fix our dishwasher I went by a big appliance part place. While waiting for my bits I asked the guy about what brands were good. He said all he would buy was Whirlpool. You could actually fix those. He said Samsung were basically unrepairable and disposable items.
As far as my day, it was great except I washed my work iPhone. It made it through fill and first wash before I realized it was in there. When I pulled it out it was still working, sort of. Killed power, pulled the, sim and now I am drying it. Fingers crossed.
Also I went and saw Spider-Man. Liked it. It didn’t move the Marvel cannon much, but it was a solid movie. It was also fun to see Avengers HQ in the movie as I had lunch there Friday and went down some of the same stair cases they used for shooting. They had been shooting there earlier in the week so it looked the same as well without any Porsches sitting in around.
