I feel like a kid waiting impatiently for Christmas morning right now.
I’m planning on buying an ‘01 Miata SE and can’t wait for it to get here. It’s going to be my daily driver til winter after I fix a couple of cosmetic issues and get a new clutch in her.
Looks like I’m another member of the cult of Miata.

Super jealous! My ‘01 SE was my favorite miata I’m glad I sold my to my friend so I can still drive it from time to time.

Is it BRG? I would do unspeakable things for a BRG hardtop for my 91 SE.

Yup, it’s BRG. I’ve been looking for an SE for a while.

I lucked into my 91. It’s an Auto though. But I have 5 speed parts to swap it.

Nice score! If you bought from the original owner, then see if you can score the gift set that came with it!
Anyway, I bet it’ll clean up nice! I believe you’re the fourth or fifth active Oppo with a NB2. There me (‘02 LS), Jake (‘02 SE), Wrong_Wheel_Drive_NOT (‘02 LS), and MarquetteLa(‘02 LS)...and I just realized how many active Oppos drive the same model year Miata.
By the way, I envied the ‘01 SE interior so badly that I turned my interior into a sort of hybrid using a ‘01 SE steering wheel and parking brake cover to go along with the Nardi knob and brake grip.

I like what you’ve done with the interior. Funny, since I’m planning on keeping the car for a while, I’m actually planning on swapping all the tan to black. I will keep all the Nardi stuff though.
It is a one owner car, so I’m hoping maybe they left all that stuff in the car, we’ll see when it’s here sometime this week.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the original owner kept it, but it wouldn’t hurt to ask. By the way, there’s a ‘01 SE-specific thread on the Miata.net NB forums. Make sure to log your SE number, maybe do some searching in the thread to see if another user had yours!

My silver trim came from two different ‘03 Miatas. It was first available on the ‘02 SE but became standard on LS-package (luxury sport?) Miatas starting in ‘03. That includes silver gauge rings, silver vent rings, silver console trim and radio surround, silver interior door handles, and silver parking brake button. I painted the originally-tan (also sourced from an ‘01 unintentionally, the seller left it on the brake handle cover) adapter for the parking brake handle (unique for the wooden ones, it has a 1"long x 1/8" wide x 1/8" thick stick for it to slot into the parking brake grip, the normal ones don’t have that little stem to prevent the grip from rotating) to match.
I’m actually planning on changing my interior out later this year for black with blue carpet and black/blue two-tone seats (think ‘99 10AE). FYI, there is a black plastic adapter for your wooden handbrake grip that you can source from NA Miatas, as I had originally done before finding a tan one to paint. The downside is that tan NB2 interior is normally worth less than black interior so be prepared to potentially lose money after selling your tan interior.
