What sort of wrench or socket would I use to remove this oxygen sensor? It’s surrounded by a cup or sleeve washer without much room.

This one should do it.

I always wondered why they had this type of socket. Now I see why. :)

looks like even an oxygen sensor socket won;t fit there! Anyway, you could always post in forum about that car. What kind of car is it anyway?

I’d give taking the manifold to the dealership a shot. I know the Honda dealer where I used to live did this sort of stuff for free. Well not exactly this, but for example, one time a CV axle snapped in half on me and I couldn’t get the half out of the steering knuckle. I took the whole knuckle in and they popped it out for free.

Either a deep profile crowfoot or a standard ratchet drive O2 socket should have no problem with that.

Also that’s a nice feature, coulda used it on my focus... One of the sensors smashed into the frame on a pothole and bent like 45*. Real bitch to get that out.

That’s a stupid idea when a hammer would work better. And vise grips are too complicated.
