I think they are the closest thing to LED bulb without buying LED bulbs.

You should have got Höens instead. I love them.
I have them in my GTO and SS. The GTO has them on the highs, lows, and fogs.
The SS has them in the fogs and high beams since the low beams are factory hids.
I had them in my first GTO. Phones have come a long way since this picture.
Here’s my old GTO next to identical GTO with factory bulbs. The right side one is mine.

The only thing with higher watt bulbs that I can think of is that they could melt the casings, couldn’t they?

You typically trade bulb life for the higher output. Not sure about the heat, could be different depending on the headlight design.

I keep forgetting I need to upgrade the Fit’s headlights; the high beams are so bad I got an 11 dollar check from Silvania as a result of a massive law suit. but I don’t drive the car out of town enough to remember that the brights suck.

About 1/2 my driving at night is on unlit side roads. So lighting is very important.
