sure, a “leave Brittany alone” type meltdown is funny. But these jokes have been made a thousand times more than any misgendering tantrum.
So yes, there’s a difference. one is a real thing that transpeople have to deal on a daily basis, the other is a dismissive stereotype. That joke doesn’t make any distinction.
