Rockstars + 2wd, lifted wrangler = not even hiding you’re a douche.

I suppose it makes sense if you need the ground clearance and approach/departure/breakover angles but not the traction associated with 4wd.

I am surprised they haven’t tried a 2wd 2 door with a 4 cyclinder 2.4 tigershark for mpg improvements.

But where are you going to find that? If you’re going extreme enough to want the clearances the Wrangler allows, you’re going to want 4wd. To my mind if you don’t need 4wd you could spend less money and use a beater pickup, you won’t be needing the extra clearance anyway.
I get that people just “wanted a Wrangler”, but I just don’t understand getting one without four driven wheels, even if you’re a total poser.

...there’s the poser that buys a vehicle for an activity they’ll never pursue...
Then there’s the one that buys a vehicle that looks like it’s for an activity that they’ll never pursue, but actually is useless for that activity it looks like it’s designed for and worse than the majority of options for any other use.
...Come to think of it, this could sell well to hipsters. GENIUS!!

Do they not anymore? I thought those sold decently well to posers.

Remember when they sold 2
door
wranglers for at least the last 30 years (still do of course), if not arguably the last 70+ years? Doug DeMuro doesn’t. He even
mentions
the wrangler, of course, but still says this at the beginning:
Every single one has been an egregious, massive failure
