No, those aren’t scratches. They’re little, tiny spiderwebs. My car is covered in them, as is every other car in the employee parking lot at work. I don’t know what kind they are, but every year around this time, they float around the parking lot and leave their webs everywhere. I saw two of them on the car the day before yesterday. They apparently like the hot weather, too, because that’s when they’re most prominent.
Either way, my car is a sauna each day because I can’t leave the windows cracked now. I’d rather not have spiderwebs IN the car.
On a side note, the second generation (2009-2012) Mazda6 was recalled because of spiders building webs in the fuel filler necks. But these spiders at work aren’t picky and they cover every car.

Welp. I’m sorry but your car and your office are going to have to go.

Post a message and I’ll tweet you back. It’s all your fault I clean my cars now.

Heh - that was going to be my first response as I read through it - the spiders have moved out of the filler neck!

Same at my work. These little bastards float all around and are inside and outside. So annoying
